Who is THPE?

I am a 24 year old heat pump service engineer who lives in South West England.

My family runs a heat pump and air conditioning business which was one of the original heat pump installation companies in the UK. My interest in residential building services began when I was 8 years old accompanying my father on his projects.

My qualifications include:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrician

• City & Guilds 2079-11 F-Gas

• Certificates in UK water regulations, Part G building regulations, and heat pump installation

• 5 years industry experience

Being a nerd, I like to know how everything works. Everyday I speak with clients and the public about heat pumps and their confusion surrounding this subject is immense.

This isn’t anybody’s fault, although the technology is by no means new, the application of heat pumps to residential heating has only been around since the late 00’. As the industry grows we need a reliable source of information so that consumers are able to make good decisions.

I hope to be that source of information.

The heat pump expert is not (yet) a business. Just a blog funded with my own taxed income. In the future I hope to gain traffic and turn thpe.com into a vast knowledge hub akin to ‘which’ or ‘the money saving expert’.
